Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

Costs to consider include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit theĀ Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.

The posting box

At Sturt we have a locked steel posting box located at the front office door for money to be paid for such things as sport, excursions, text books, classroom requirements, voluntary contributions etc.

Children do not need to come into the office to post their envelopes. Any amount, whether large or small will be safe when posting into the box.

Simply write your child's name and class on a plastic zip-lock bag, place completed permission notes (folded outwards for easy identification) and the correct payment in the bag, zip it up and post in the post box.

Please remind children to post their money early, as it needs to be processed by the office. As the school does not carry change, please try to place the correct amount into envelopes.

It is fine to use your bag for more than one excursion and more than one child, however please have separate permission notes for each child and write your child's full name on the permission note.
